Ibu Kartini Day 21 April 2015

The 21st of April was the birthday of Raden Ayu Kartini Ibu, a pioneer in the area of women's rights for Indonesians. Kartini's concerns were not only in the field of women's emancipation, but also other problems of the society. Kartini saw that the struggle of women for their freedom, autonomy and legal equality was just part of a wider movement.

Ibu Kartini Day is dedicated to celebrating the freedom for women and it is a habit that girls and women wear traditional clothes (kebaya and batik), elaborate hairstyles and beautiful jewelry to school and work. Also he children of LombokCare arrived in beautiful traditional dress to school and did some game competitions with eachother. There were also many prizes handed out so the kids were quite cheerful these days!
